Yesternight at the Madison Square Gardens was the 12-12-12 concert which feated All Rock Stars from Sir Paul Cartney to The Who, Kanye West, Rolling stones and more. Sir Paul McCartney took to the stage with the surviving members of Nirvana and he performed a new song.
The former Beatle introduced Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear to the stage in Madison Square Garden during his performance at the fundraising concert for the victims of hurricane Sandy.
After a quick story about "jamming" with a few guys recently, McCartney said: "The penny finally dropped that I was in the middle of a Nirvana reunion."
With McCartney playing as Kurt Cobain, the band played a new song called Cut Me Some Slack that they had secretly rehearsed.
Cobain's widow Courtney Love told TMZ.com that she was "not amused" by the reunion, and McCartney's role in it.
"Look, if John (Lennon) were alive it would be cool," she said.
Rapper Kanye West also gave a power performance at the show together with Singer Alicia Keys. Sporting a Pyrex hoodie and leather kilt, Kanye performed over 10 songs including “Mercy,” “Clique,” “Power,” “Jesus Walks,” “All of the Lights,” “Diamonds,” “Gold Digger,” and “Runaway,” closing with “Stronger.
