The 2013 Cadillac ATS is built to taste

Cadillac is a brand of General Motors synonymous with Luxury. The company has taken this luxury a notch further with the release of its 2013 Cadillac ATS. The compact sports sedan is General Motor’s latest effort to root itself in the competitive compact sports sedan segment. It was released to critical acclaim, already claiming the car of the year at Detroit’s North American International Auto show.

What stands the 2013 Cadillac ATS apart from its counterparts in the luxury compact sedan segment? Styling, design and quality interior. The exterior looks great with vertical light in the front and rear. It has a dimension that is identical to that of the BMW 3-series and talking about the BNW 3- series, it has really got itself a good competitor in the latest Caddy ATS.

The 2013 Cadillac ATS comes with three engine options, allowing buyers to choose the option suited best for their driving style. The options includes the 2.5-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine, the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cyclinder engine and the 3.6-liter V-6 engine. Of these, the 3.6-liter V-6 engine is considered the most powerful engine because it produces more horse power and torque (318 horsepower and 267 pounds feet of torque) than that of the 2.5-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine and the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine (200 horse power, 188 pounds feet of torque and 270 horsepower, 260 pounds feet of torque respectively).

Other notable features include:
  • An 8.0 rich LCD touch screen for the new Cadillac User Experience System which is highly visible even in the presence of direct sunlight.
  • Navigation from Telematics.
  • Driver and passenger illuminated vanity and visor minor respectively.
  • Stability control/cruise control, electronic with set and resume speed.
  • Air filtration system/climate control
  • Security system (theft-deterrent system, vehicle PASS-key III+ with immobilizer
  • ABS
  • Driver information center
  • Seat adjusters, driver and front passenger 6-way power, plus  2-way power lumber and a 4-way adjustable head restraints
  • Key-less entry and start
  • Headlamps, projector type halogen which includes Twillight Sentinel and flash-to–pass
  • A function which brings up additional buttons when a proximity sensor detects a hand around.
Overall the 2013 luxury Cadillac ATS is a nice car that was definitely built to taste; with reasonable sophistication and technology. A good upgrade from the previous unflattering efforts from GM. It also assures of maximum safety, with a 5-star ranking in every category in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) tests under its belt. The new 2013 Cadillac ATS brings something new and classy into the luxury compact sedan segment and we will have to wait a little longer to see how favorably it competes with the BMW 3 series, it biggest competitor in the market. If you love your cars with class, technology, elegance and performance and have the budget to match, you’ve got to make this your next car.
