Pumpkin designs:Simple Pumpkin Painting

With each annual visit to the pumpkin patch, teachers, room mothers, scout troop leaders and parents alike often wonder how to make the most of the prize pumpkin that was chosen by a child.

Forget the messy and dangerous ideas of carving. Pumpkin Painting is the perfect solution to a creative dilemma! Painting silly, goofy or scary faces or other designs can be a fun, yet relatively simple activity for children and adults.

Preschool age children can even participate in creating their own designs for their pumpkins. You certainly can't say that about carving pumpkins!

The easiest design to paint on a pumpkin is a traditional jack-o-lantern face. But here are some other ideas for festive designs:

- silly or goofy faces
- favorite cartoon characters
- fall leaves
- scarecrow
- witch
- princess
- turkey
- spider
- ghosts
- cats
- goblin

Painting pumpkins is a very economical craft as most supplies are readily available (you probably already have some of these in your home):

- washable markers
- acrylic craft paints
- newspaper
- spray sealer
- accessories such as raffia, jewelry, hats, etc.

Before beginning, decide what design you are going to paint and trace that design onto a clean pumpkin. You can freehand the design or select one of the many designs in the ultimate e-guide for pumpkin painting, Easy Pumpkin Painting.

Once you or your child has painted their first pumpkin, chances are you’ll want to paint an entire pumpkin family to proudly display at your home.

Pumpkin Painting is an annual family tradition at our house. We hope it will be at yours as well.

Easy Pumpkin Painting is a guide that contains step-by-step instructions and color photographs of exactly how to paint the cutest Halloween pumpkins. It also contains templates that you can use to paint your first pumpkin in about an hour! Easy Pumpkin Painting makes painting pumpkins, well, Easy!

Apple iPad Air review

Apple iPad Air review
Ahead of its November 1st release, here is a concise review of the new iPad Air from UK's Telegraph.
When Apple announced the iPad Air last week, it made much of the achievement of packing so much into so small a package: this is the iPad that is already so popular, but now it’s lighter, thinner, faster and more powerful. And in a stroke of marketing genius, a largely similar product is now rebranded, making it easier for consumers to notice that they don’t have the latest model.
On the one hand, it’s not really very different at all: this iPad doesn’t do anything serious that the previous version didn’t. Camera, processor and other under the hood improvements don’t make it a fundamentally different device, so it’s probably compulsory to call it an evolution rather than a revolution. But it remains beautifully built, implausibly thin yet without any of the flex that comes with cheap tablets. The slightly more rectangular design contributes, with its more angled corners, to the sense of a substantially smaller, 7.5mm thin package, even though the screen is the same size.

Looked at another way, however, the Air is radically different. I’ve had one for a week or so and it’s the first full-size iPad I’ve ever thrown into my bag without thinking about the (28 per cent lighter) weight. It’s totally replaced the iPad Mini for me, which previously was the model I’d take out and about. Equipped with EE’s 4G network, which ran for me at a routine 30Mbps in London, it’s the internet at almost full-size, wherever you go. The 7” Mini now feels, well, Mini. Just as Android phones are getting bigger, so is the iPad. It claims 10 hours of battery life, which was more than I have ever needed, albeit sometimes with a little bit of planning.

If there are faults with the iPad Air, the only two I can find are the suggestion, in the branding, that it’s a totally new product, and the fact that the smartcover now adopts the flimsier three-panel design used in the original iPad Mini. But these are tiny issues. This is the iPad that was already brilliant in an even better design. Almost entirely thanks to the 475,000 tablet apps, iPad Air is the best tablet on the market. And Kindle fans beware - the Air is now more useful for reading, its clever software knowing whether your thumb is interacting with the device or simply holding it.

There is a question, of course, over why anyone should spend $641 on a tablet when Carphone Warehouse will sell you one for $78, and Tesco will sell you the perfectly decent Hudl for $191.But neither of these devices, nor for that matter Samsung’s more expensive versions, feel like the truly premium iPad. And none has that vast library of unique tablet apps. While Android phones have caught up with the iPhone, and in many aspects surpass it, the iPad remains a unique proposition and the iPad Air is the best iPad yet.

Its light weight and thin form mean it gets out of the way – you don’t notice it, but you notice what you’re doing on it. That, potentially, unleashes a new generation of tablet-based productivity. The fact that Apple is now giving away even more software means that perhaps the rebranding is, therefore, more than simply a marketing exercise. Air may yet be the oxygen for a new wave of uses for the iPad.

What to investigate before going hiking

What to investigate before going hiking

Hiking, is without a doubt, one of the most fun and entertaining past times there are. You’ll be able to experience nature face to face and enjoy marvelous views, it is, without a doubt, a breath taking experience.

But it also demands that you take the time to perform a few investigations before you travel, for a start, make sure to know what the terrain you and your friends will visit, has to offer, what hazards might be around (insects, plants, animal life) so you can take precautions an avoid dangerous situations.
Due diligence in this matter will also allow you to know what equipment you’ll need to take with you like flashlights, rope, medicines, and more.

You should also investigate about the surrounding areas so you know where emergency personnel can be located and how, also where you can get fresh supplies for your trip. And talking about supplies that’s something you also need to take into consideration depending on what your plans are and how many days you plan to be hiking.

This is also a very important point, if you plan to hike for more than one day, you also need to know about weather conditions: rain, wind, etc. so you can be prevented and bring the necessary elements to protect yourself as well as prevent, in terms of food and stuff, for example have food that does not need to be cooked in case of rain, or to know if there’s a place to spend the night in case wind or rain conditions get worse.

Also remember to let someone know where you will be and to carry a means of communication like a cell phone or a satellite phone, this way you’ll not only be able to call for help in case its needed and also because thanks to their technology and GPS capabilities, they can trace and pinpoint your location and help you faster.

The important detail is that if you perform a thoughtful investigation before your travel, you’ll have a better experience, will bring with you everything that you might need and you and your friends will be safer and more riskless.

And don’t forget to share with us your experiences by filling the form below, we would really like to hear from you. Until next time!

What to look for in a GPS for your bicycle?

What to look for in a GPS for bicycles
You love biking, you love the excitement of going off road, facing the mountains, the arena, the wind, indeed a breathtaking experience, but one of the key elements for your biking trips is, without a doubt, the GPS device that will help you stay on course and reach your destination on the desired time.Obviously the first one must be the navigational feature, this means, maps, route tracking and all the necessary features to know where you are, how fast your moving and so on (this is achieved not just by the satellites pin pointing your location but also by the networking services provided by the GPS maker), this is, like we mentioned before the key feature you need.

Also the device must have a design that fits your bike well without being bulky and without adding unnecessary weight. You might think, “Why worry about the weight of such small device?” well, the fact of the matter is, the more you go on, the more energy you’ll need and any element that adds weight to the bike, will, in turn, represent energy loss for you.

Features like climbing and descent data are also desirable as they will, at each time, let you know how high you are, thus making you able to make a decision on the fly on what course to take. Also the descent data will help you know how fast you’re going down.

One of the most important and key features to look for in a GPS device is the ease of use, remember that you’ll be using the device while on the bike and while moving on hard terrains, so, the easier it is to manipulate, the better and more helpful it’ll be for you.

You can also look for a GPS that can keep your health information on display like hear rate, calories burned, energy levels, and also importantly, your water level, not just for your safety, but also so you can monitor your fitness goals.

Also remember to check for voice and data services that might available for you at the area that you choose to practice biking, this is critical in case you need assistance, remember, biking is fun but in this case it also has its risks.

With the GPS you can easily tell emergency services about your location (coordinates) so they can find you more quickly and provide assistance.

BlackBerry denies involvement in fake BBM for Android reviews

BBM for Android and iOS was launched on Monday and some users noticed fake reviews stacking up on the app by Tuesday and Wednesday, but this 'reviews' increased Thursday when tech blogger Terence Eden took a closer look at the growing number of reviews (over 182,000 at the time of writing).

Many of the reviews were written in ridiculous poor English, almost as if they were posted by bots and spammers. English isn’t most people’s first first language, however, so that in itself wasn’t enough of a red flag, but Eden found many reviews that looked as if the same text had been copied over and over however, blackberry has responded to a request for comment on the issue, taking no responsibility for the fishy comments and showing its disapproval for them.

A BlackBerry spokesperson gave TNW the following statement:
We have been made aware of a number of potentially fake reviews of BBM for Android on Google Play, with ratings anywhere from one to five stars,” . “We have no knowledge of how these reviews were created or populated. We do not approve of or condone such activities. There are also many genuinely great and useful reviews from our new BBM users on Google Play. We would like to encourage our fans and users to continue to provide true assessments of the BBM experience through the proper channels.
What do you think of the fake BBM for Andriod reviews? Have you noticed them?

Fitness Clubs: Locks for Lockers, how to pick

How to Pick Locks For Lockers For Fitness Clubs

If you own a fitness club you know that your clients look for the best environment and the best time possible. This means not only having good equipment and trainers but also offering them the confidence that the facilities meet the standards that they expect.
And one thing you must pay close attention to is the locks for lockers because your clients will like to have the confidence that their valuables are well kept while the exercise. Remember that most people will leave cell phones, beepers, watches and so on and so forth. Thus you’ll want them to be at peace while enjoying your fitness facilities.

So the question arises on what kind of locker locks to get, right? Well, first and foremost you need to consider durability, we’re talking about an item that has to withstand heavy and constant use, and therefore you need something durable and that can keep working for a long time.

There’s a wide variety of locker locks that you can choose from, like master combination locks or proximity locks. There are also the classic locker locks that use keys. We don’t recommend the later as keys are prone to get lost, broken in use and so on and so forth. Combination locks can be a good idea but they require maintenance and can get damaged or reset very easily, especially after constant use.

In our research we have found that proximity locks are the best idea for this intense use environments because they lack the need of inserting keys, are easier to use and require little to no maintenance from the manufacturer. And the fact that the users spend little contact with them makes them prone to keep working for much extended periods of time.

And if we talk about costs, proximity locks, with their little to no maintenance and less probability of damage, are simply a cost saving alternative, while other type of locks may have lost keys, broken keys, damaged combination mechanisms, and constant maintenance, this ones are simply the choice to make.

As mentioned before, the main advantage of this kind of locks is that the user rarely touches the lock and when it does, the mechanism is never in contact with the user thus reducing the probability of damage or misuse.

If you have had experiences with locker locks and/or own or look forward to open a fitness club, please share your experiences with us by commenting in the field below, we would really love to hear from you, until next time!
